Job summary This role will be part of the Growing the Community and Friarage collaborative team working in close collaboration with the Head of Nursing, Clinical Director and Service Manager. You will encourage innovation, creativity and professional challenge in the interests of patient care and professional practice through clinical leadership that empowers, inspires and motivates the workforce, and provides a visible and supportive presence. You will provide excellent clinical leadership and management to the specialist palliative care service and to wards and departments, working with patients & staff, evaluating existing services and providing innovative and novel models of care. The post is also responsible for the delivery of EOLC across the trust working across all collaboratives to ensure EOLC is of the highest standard. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating & ensuring safe standards of care, monitoring the quality and patient experience of care given. Main duties of the job To lead and manage the integrated specialist palliative care nursing team across the trust. The role will provide support, expert professional advice, information, coaching, supervision, education and leadership to other staff within their area as well as within the wider multidisciplinary teams.The post is also responsible for the delivery of End of Life Care across the trust working across all collaboratives to ensure EOLC is of the highest standard. You will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring safe standards of care, monitoring the quality and patient experience. You will lead on the implementation of the national "Ambitions for Palliative and End of Life care" ensuring a robust trust wide system is in place to achieve the 6 key ambitions highlighted within the Ambitions framework. This will be underpinned by the delivery of timely, compassionate and effective care to all patients and carers. There will be a requirement to be an effective role model with the ability to influence change. They will provide operational management, service development and people management for the trust wide specialist palliative care service and will work across collaboratives to provide a streamlined service with delegated responsibility from the service manager for day to day operational remit.
