Overview of role
Location: Stevenage Hertfordshire
Annual Salary £43,000, Depending on experience
The role of the Regional Driving Assessor reports to the Transport/Depot Manager at their parent site, with dotted line reporting to other Transport/Depot Managers across the region. You will be responsible for the delivery of full and complete training services and programmes in line with meeting our legal requirements, delivering driver CPC and Manual Handling training, ensuring effective monitoring and assessing within the transport functions across the South East Region. Full periodic reporting is required.
Key Accountabilities
* Create and deliver an annual plan of CPC refresher dates, manual handling sessions & OH assessments for existing and new employees.
* Training and assessment of new starters and agency workers including paperwork sign off in line with training procedures and SSOW.
* Monitor agency inductions, ensuring that the correct manual handling material is being used for training and the correct sign off is obtained.
* Work alongside the Department Manager in delivery of the Priority Risk Assessment for Logistics including regular auditing of standards.
* Be the custodian of departmental tachograph training supporting infringement management.
* Monitor accident damage, RTA investigations and support delivery of corrective actions.
* Monitor manual handling operations, reporting back on observations and trends; supporting FLM’s with 1 to 1’s where appropriate.
* Take a leading role in delivering the key messages from the Driver Safety Charter and any future initiatives specifically aimed at driving functions, controls and behavioural measures.
* Lead communication to all drivers on the working time directive and its impact on drivers.
* Periodic reporting on all driver related KPI’s, such as hazards, audits, training position.
* Identify ongoing training and produce periodic plans accordingly.

Essential:
* Driver CPC certified; ideally C+E license holder.
* Computer literacy, spreadsheets, newsletters, PowerPoint.
* At least 2 years experience as a driver in a commercially challenging, results-driven, FMCG environment.
