As a Senior Operational Support Officer, you can play an integral role in our development. We are looking for a Senior Operational Support Officer to lead in providing efficient and effective support services to the Divisions within our Constabulary. You’ll gain in depth knowledge of the organisation and its processes whilst working with stakeholders, both internal and external, at all levels. You’ll manage our systems, resources and processes to optimum effect. Key Responsibilities: Manage the delivery of administration functions through the provision of effective, timely and professional customer service across the full range of support activities. Ensuring processes are aligned. Liaise with and advise local managers and other managers who require administrative support, ensuring common processes and procedures are maintained across all Administration functions in conjunction with the Operational Support Managers. Abstract and analyse information from systems to co-ordinate the efficient administration of Constabulary functions where necessary including venue, catering and equipment booking, preparation of course paperwork and liaising with CNC financial and stakeholder financial teams. Manage and accurately administer records on appropriate systems. Interrogation and analysis of systems to produce reports, forecasts, and the co-ordination of internal and external training events. Plan and implement duty rotas to ensure sufficient staffing to provide effective and professional administrative services and ensure cover during staff shortfalls. Provide the necessary, administrative, and logistical support to maximise officer deployment. Including supporting complex personnel case management, health committee meetings, annual medical scheduling, and occupational referrals. Ensuring adherence to aligning policy, timescales, and handling of confidential information. Highlighting potential process issues, offering solution, progress chasing and records maintenance. Support the Operational Support Manager with procurement processes and oversee procurement for goods and services identifying and implementing efficiencies where possible. Assist in the drafting of departmental budgets and continued oversight of spending to budget and compilation of month end details in partnership with finance teams. Requirements: This post holder will preferably possess a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a related field and/or equivalent and substantive experience in a similar role. Ability to manage challenging behaviour and situations. Ability to manage workloads and challenge, when necessary, other functional heads. Ability to make and influence decisions pertaining to area of specialisms. Ability to initiate, plan and deliver successful change. The nature of the work requires the individual to display flexibility in working practices and on occasion may require working unsociable hours at short notice and travel throughout the CNC estate Due to the nature of work being undertaken the post holder will be required to work with discretion and confidentiality and will require the necessary clearance level.
