Your role and responsibilities fulfil Suffolk County Council's statutory duty by conducting regular highway safety inspections respond to customer reports by carrying out ad-hoc safety inspections and providing updates on the outcomes initiate reactive repair works based on inspection findings to restore the highway to a safe condition perform regular audits of completed works to ensure high-quality standards are upheld employ AI technology to assess the condition of the highway effectively. You will need ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and complete inspections on time, with the flexibility to travel to multiple locations as needed to be accurate in identifying defects, recording findings, and providing clear and concise instructions on the required actions to learn all associated standards and requirements of the role, with flexibility to work across various locations as needed to collaborate with colleagues, and the public, ensuring clear communication with a customer-focused approach, and a visible ambassador for the service the ability to work with and adapt to developing technology and software systems used in highway management and inspections. The team Join our dynamic Highways Assessment team, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the highway network is safe for use and maintenance activities are prioritised and completed. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team of 21 Highways Assessment Officers who are led by 3 Highways Assessment Engineers.
