Are you a social purpose driven and commercially minded Business Development professional, with experience of working in a regulated or financial services environment?
Can you lead a team of Business Development Managers to increase the value of our funding pipeline, securing new partnerships and sustainable funding for both core service provision and also innovation?
Do you excel in partnership management, stakeholder engagement, building strong networks, and driving external awareness through engagement and events?
The Senior Business Development Managerwill play a leading role in the development of partner-centric propositions across a number of sectors, maintaining StepChanges position as the UKs leading Debt Advice provider and the partner of choice. You will work closely with the Business Development Director, leading the Business Development Managers, to collaborate with existing and new partners to drive referral volumes and funding, supporting the development of the Growth & Innovation strategy and delivery plan.
Your Role
In the role you will develop our business pipeline securing funding for routine operations and innovative projects, by developing value propositions and bids that align with funders strategic goals to accelerate our digital transformation.
You will be working with the Sector Insight & Strategy team, horizon scanning, assessing market trends and consumer needs to identify new growth opportunities across multiple sectors. You will increase external awareness of the Charity, our partnerships, products and services, and collaborative ethos through events, LinkedIn, and speaking engagements.
Leading and motivating your team of Business Development Managers will be a key part of your role, including fostering strong relationships, providing coaching and working collaboratively on individual development plans, ensuring that the high colleague engagement survey scores are maintained. Reporting on KPIs and assisting in broader directorate team management will also be part of your responsibilities.
National travel and attendance at external meeting/events will be required with occasional overnight stays.

About You
* Proven business development experience in financial services or charitable sectors, with expertise in partnership building and stakeholder management to drive profitable growth and generate income
* Proven strategic and inventive thinker, skilled in developing and executing business development strategies and short-term plans for organisational growth and sustainability
* Experience of identifying and developing a pipeline of funding opportunities, roadmaps and targets, securing funding, ideally in the not-for-profit sector
* Experience managing and mentoring a team to achieve strategic goals
* Excellent and articulate communicator, both verbally and in written mediums, also highly experienced in proposition development
