SEMH Teaching Assistant - KS1 - Leyton, Waltham Forest
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Would you like to make a real difference in a vibrant primary school setting?
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a skilled SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a large and welcoming primary school in Leyton, Waltham Forest. This full-time role, starting in April 2024, offers a daily salary of £90-£95 and provides an excellent opportunity to support KS1 pupils with SEMH and learning difficulties.
The Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and social interactions. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with SEMH and learning difficulties.
2. Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
3. Implementing behaviour management strategies to promote positive engagement in lessons.
4. Encouraging pupils' emotional and social development through tailored support.
5. Liaising with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to ensure the best possible support for pupils.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a caring and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs. The ideal candidate will have:
1. Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH and learning difficulties, ideally in a school setting.
2. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
3. A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. A patient, empathetic, and nurturing attitude.
