Job Overview
We are looking to appoint Specialty Doctors in Emergency Medicine at University Hospitals Dorset to work at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site. The Emergency Medicine team at UHD has significant experience in supporting doctors through the CESR programme. The successful candidate will join the existing Emergency Department team at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital supporting the Middle Grade tier.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality emergency care, being competent in the normal range of emergency medical conditions and injuries.
* Direct clinical care will consist of scheduled shifts for routine assessment and treatment of patients in the Emergency Department.
* Participate in the middle tier rota, covering 24 hours, seven days a week.
* Undertake professional development and participate in audit, ensuring all clinical governance areas are met.
Minimum Requirements
Skills
* Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload & use initiative.
* Ability to know own limitations & when to seek advice.
Experience
* Completion of at least 4 years full-time postgraduate training with at least 2 years in Emergency Medicine.
* Experience in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching.
* Experience of managing the Emergency Department as the Emergency Physician in Charge (EPIC).
Qualifications
* ALS certification.
* Able to speak English as necessary for the role.
