Job Title: Business Architect
Location: West Midlands, Hybrid once a week in the office
Salary: £85,000
Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Business Architect to help establish an internal architecture function for the first time. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Architecture to design frameworks and best practices that align with the organisation's strategic goals. You’ll translate complex business needs into actionable solutions, driving operational efficiency and supporting long-term objectives. Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Architecture Development: Collaborate with the Head of Architecture to establish internal architecture functions and governance models.
2. Business Modelling: Develop architecture models that map operations, capabilities, and value streams, ensuring alignment across information, application, and technology domains.
3. Strategic Collaboration: Translate strategic goals into architectural solutions, driving decision-making and efficiency.
4. Stakeholder Engagement: Work across departments to understand business processes and challenges, ensuring alignment with architecture.
5. TOGAF Implementation: Apply TOGAF to create structured, standardised business architecture and produce key artefacts (catalogues, diagrams, roadmaps).
6. Data Focus: Ensure architectural solutions support effective, compliant data management in line with regulatory requirements.
7. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, reduce costs, and drive performance.
8. Governance & Compliance: Support governance frameworks that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Skills & Experience:
1. Proven experience in business architecture, or roles like Business Analyst, Consultant, or Project Manager.
2. Experience in industries with complex data processing needs (e.g., utilities, finance, telecoms) is desirable.
3. TOGAF certification is highly desirable.
4. Proficiency in business modelling tools (e.g., Visio, Miro) and creating architectural artefacts.
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
