Description ABOUT YOU Intertek C&P in Manchester are currently recruiting for a Senior Analyst in Molecular Science. Working within a diverse environment will provide an opportunity to further broaden your skillset and work on a vast array of projects which range in both scale, scope and timeline. Whilst being required to prepare and analyse samples using a variety of analytical techniques and with some levels of guidance, there is an expectation that you will begin to utilise your skills and knowledge on an independent basis and provide support and guidance to new or junior members of the team. Required skills and experience: BSc / MSc in Biology/Chemistry (or related scientific discipline) is essential. Over 2 years’ experience using Molecular techniques for the analysis of biopharmaceuticals. Experience of working in a GxP regulatory laboratory with strong understanding of GMP principles. Understanding of method validation principles (ICH Q2). Good practical laboratory and problem-solving skills. Clear written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly convey processes, results and key messages and able to build rapport, quickly and effectively. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY As well as carrying out general analysis, you are encouraged to begin applying, developing and validating analytical methods under supervision and play a key part in supporting the business to consistently deliver our clients expectations. Key activities: Competent in all practical aspects of molecular assays including quantitative PCR (qPCR) and/or digital droplet PCR (ddPCR) Providing analytical services to customers in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors in a GLP, GCP and GMP regulated laboratory. Method development and validation in accordance with industry guidance. Experience in additional techniques including cell-based assays, flow cytometry and immunoassay are an advantage Ability to work unsupervised, planning and performing analytical work, generating and interpreting data and generating reports when required. Experience working with biopharmaceuticals (eg. mAbs, Bispecifics, Peptides, Viruses) in biological matrices (eg. serum and plasma) Ability to assimilate and develop new techniques within the laboratory and work in new areas if required. Good understanding of theoretical basis of the techniques and their application to biopharmaceuticals. Providing specialist expertise in method development, bioanalytical method validation and sample analysis.
