Contract Responsible Engineer
Location: North
Salary: Competitive
Contract Type: Permanent
What you’ll do:
This role is designed for a technically capable, hands-on professional who will lead civil engineering assurance on our current core works—fencing, small-scale civils, and drainage—while actively supporting Contract Managers in safe and effective project delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in embedding quality and compliance from the ground up, supporting our strategic intent to expand into larger, multi-disciplinary infrastructure works across rail, road, water, and power.
The CRE will not only ensure robust engineering oversight today but will grow with the business into a future Contractor’s Engineering Manager (CEM) position, helping shape and scale our delivery model to meet emerging infrastructure demands.
Role Summary
The Contractor Responsible Engineer (CRE) – Civils is accountable for the technical delivery and assurance of civil engineering projects, with a primary focus on fencing, drainage, and small-scale civils. The role requires a proactive, hands-on presence—supporting Contract Managers and site teams in delivering work to the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance.
In addition to delivering on today's core projects, the CRE will support our ambition to expand into larger infrastructure works, gaining exposure across rail, road, water, and power. With time, the individual will step into the broader CEM role, taking overall responsibility for engineering assurance on complex, multi-disciplinary schemes.
