We are now recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to work in our established ledger team as we head into a period of change to support the growth of the company globally.
What is the role
Working alongside our Sheffield-based accounts team responsible for six UK sites and seven overseas sites, you will join a fast-moving department covering a range of accounting tasks and responsibilities. Duties will include:
1. UK and overseas credit control
2. conducting credit checks on new and existing customers
3. chasing payments and resolving problems in relation to invoice queries and payments
4. allocation of customer receipts including complex settlement discount structures
5. liaising with UK and overseas sales colleagues
6. sales receipt forecasts
7. highlighting and reporting debtor problems to management
8. month end reconciliations, debit note and credit note processing
9. customer rebate management and analysis
Working hours
Mon - Fri 8.30am - 5.00pm. The Company operates a flexible working policy, with office hours of 7.00am-7.00pm Monday-Friday.
Who you are
You must be qualified by experience and should also be able to offer the following:
10. Confidence working with multiple IT systems (currently MS Office, Power BI and E8, our bespoke ERP system), with good Excel skills and ability to adapt to change positively
11. An ability to work well both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
12. A flexible approach and strong organisational skills
13. Good people engagement and communication skills in all areas of the business
14. Must have experience of cashbook, daily banking and general ledger work to provide holiday cover within the ledger team
15. Capable of ledger management and fundamental accounting practices (i.e. double entry)
16. Ability to identify improvements and implement them
17. Previous work with a group of companies or multiple regions, and therefore able to work alongside international colleagues
