Technical L&D Manager (Energy Storage Systems)
Location: GivEnergy’s training facility in Stoke-on-Trent (ST6 4QZ) with flexibility to travel to deliver client training sessions as required in the UK
Job Type: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm (with flexibility for out-of-hours events)
Salary: Competitive (plus performance bonus)
Driving Licence: Due to the nature of the role, a valid driving licence is required for use of a company pool vehicle

GivEnergy are a globally established, leading energy storage manufacturer of electronic equipment designed to manage energy use and production. We specialise in a range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Reporting to our Head of Customer Experience, this role is central to fostering a knowledgeable and highly skilled workforce, promoting innovation, and ensuring GivEnergy remains at the forefront of the industry. You will lead the creation and implementation of a technical training program, ensuring all employees and third-party installers possess the knowledge and skills to promote, commission and remediate GivEnergy hardware in the field.
This is a strategic role where you will spearhead the design, development and rollout of comprehensive training programs that empower both our installers and employees to get it right first time. Leveraging your technical expertise and instructional design skills, you will create transformative learning experiences that close skill gaps, support career growth, and drive the success of GivEnergy.
Key Accountabilities Include:
L&D Strategy
* Lead the design and implementation of GivEnergy’s Learning & Development strategy.
* Collaborate with departmental managers, HR, and external training providers to conduct training needs assessments.
* Identify skill gaps and create targeted training plans aligned with competency requirements and career development goals.
Installer Training & Support
* Develop comprehensive training materials (manuals, guides, presentations, and videos) tailored to diverse skill levels.
* Deliver hands-on training sessions on installation techniques, product features, and functionalities.
* Gather feedback from participants to continuously improve training content and delivery.
Technical Training Delivery & Development
* Design and deliver engaging training content across digital, lectures, workshops, and practical sessions covering GivEnergy’s complete product range, electrical engineering fundamentals (principles, wiring regulations, installations) and electrical safety practices.
* Create and maintain high-quality training materials, such as presentation slides, digital tests and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for theoretical and practical training.
* Ensure all training materials align with industry standards and best practices.
Knowledge & Expertise
* Stay updated on GivEnergy product developments, new features, and industry best practices to keep training content relevant.
* Collaborate with Sales and Technical Support teams to deliver seamless training experiences.
* Maintain detailed records of training activities, including attendance, topics covered, and feedback.
* Analyse data to identify training trends and measure program effectiveness.
Brand Advocacy
* Represent GivEnergy as a brand ambassador at industry events, trade shows and conferences.
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualification in a technical field (e.g. engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline)
* Certification in teaching or training (or proven relevant experience)
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, wiring regulations, and installation processes.
* Track record of developing and implementing effective training strategies.
* Experience in creating and delivering engaging training programs (e.g. lectures, workshops, hands-on sessions, eLearning modules).
* Proficiency in adult learning theories and instructional methods.
* Exceptional skills in verbal and written communication with ability to confidently present to audiences ranging from single learners to large groups.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Proven ability to conduct training needs assessments and identify skill gaps.
* Data-driven approach to evaluating training effectiveness.
* Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other relevant training tools/ learning technologies.
* Comprehensive knowledge of GivEnergy product range and functionalities (desirable).
* Willingness to travel occasionally for industry events and global training initiatives.
