SITE ENGINEER - Permanent Opportunity
Division: Civils
Location: Glasgow
Benefits: Car Allowance; Subsidised Private Medical Cover; Life Assurance Scheme; Living away from home allowance (where appropriate), Contributory Pension, 35 Days annual leave (Including Public Holidays) We are searching for an experienced Site Engineer to provide engineering support to the Section Engineer and Site Management team on Civil Engineering in Glasgow
We’re looking for someone who has experience as a Site Engineer already and who has good experience with Setting-Out and Surveying. You'll also have Civils experience with a Main Contractor. We work collaboratively, so good communication skills are key too.
A full driving licence is essential for this post.
About You
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar position with a main contractor.
Typical duties will include:
1. Undertake Surveying and Setting Out duties.
2. Check drawings and quantities.
3. Schedule selected materials for ordering from the procurement department.
4. Plan the work and efficiently organise site operations to meet an agreed programme of deadlines.
5. Liaise with any consultants and sub-contracts engaged in the project as necessary.
6. Supervise and monitor the site labour force and monitor the work of any sub-contractors.
7. Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
8. Ensure quality records necessary to meet quality requirements are maintained.
9. Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
10. Arrange testing of materials.
11. Undertake the testing and calibration of instruments used.
12. Keep a Site Diary.
13. Fully interact with other members of the construction site team (team player).
14. Liaise with other function/departmental managers.
15. Introduce improvements and innovation where appropriate to areas of responsibility.
16. Other duties as required by the Site Manager to facilitate construction of the works.
