( 12-Month Maternity Cover) About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Purchase to Pay Assistant to join our Purchase to Pay (P2P) Team on a 12-month maternity cover basis. You will play a key role in ensuring best procurement practice, delivering efficiencies, and maximising benefits to the University. At Lancaster we take a forward-thinking approach to managing the full Purchase to Pay and Source to Contract process for the University’s non-pay expenditure of approximately £100m per year. As part of its commitment to sustainability, the University has declared a Climate Emergency and set an ambitious target to be Carbon Net Zero by 2035—a goal in which the Procurement Team plays a crucial role. Key Responsibilities Oversee and support the end-to-end Purchase to Pay process, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with procurement best practices. Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and payments. Ensure compliance with the University’s Procurement Procedures, supporting policy adherence across departments. Assist with system improvements and process enhancements to drive efficiency within P2P operations. Support the training and development of team members and University staff on procurement policies and system usage. About You We are looking for someone who: Has experience delivering Purchase to Pay for a large organisation. Possesses a detailed understanding of Purchase to Pay processes and systems and, can effectively communicate these to others. Demonstrates strong communication skills, with excellent written and numerical abilities. Has good interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships across all levels of the University and with external partners.
