We’re on the lookout for a Finance Business Analyst to join our team and support the Finance Change Lead in delivering exciting change projects. If you're a natural problem-solver who enjoys untangling processes, finding smart solutions, and making things run smoothly—this could be your perfect role.
Using a variety of analysis tools—like process mapping, gap analysis, SWOT, RACI, and stakeholder mapping—to streamline and improve our finance processes, you'll keep the finance backlogs up to date and ensure all documentation is accurate. You'll define business needs and develop practical solutions while identifying quick wins and long-term benefits of new processes.
Supporting system updates, testing, and continuous improvements will also be on your radar, alongside building strong relationships across the business to drive change. You'll play a vital role in delivering finance transformation projects and supporting wider business initiatives, all while challenging the status quo and seeking smarter, more efficient ways of working.
Must-have skills to be successful in this role:
* Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – A sharp eye for detail with the ability to break down complex processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements using tools like process mapping, gap analysis, and SWOT.
* Communication & Stakeholder Management – Strong interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels, translate technical information into business-friendly language, and build relationships that drive change.
* Finance & Systems Knowledge – A solid understanding of finance processes, experience working with finance systems or ERP platforms, and the ability to document and report on business requirements effectively.
* Change & Continuous Improvement Mindset – A proactive approach to challenging existing processes, driving efficiency, supporting transformation initiatives, and ensuring successful project implementation.
We're big on working flexibly - you'll spend most of your time working from home, with 1 day per week in the office at Haywards Heath, West Sussex - because collaborating with colleagues is always great, right? But of course, it’s your choice - if you prefer to be in the office more - that's good with us too.
What's involved:
* Effectively execute a wide range of analytical tools and techniques, including process mapping, re-engineering, gap analysis, SWOT analysis, RACI and stakeholder mapping.
* Responsible for maintaining the information held on the finance backlog ensuring all documentation is complete.
* Provide Finance Change Manager and Lead with clearly defined requirements and aligned business solutions to ensure successful business outcome(s).
* Identify benefits, strengths, and quick wins from adopting new processes. Support testing process and ensure adherence to future working processes.
* Support the definition of realizable benefits and support the prioritization of change.
* Produce clear and effective requirements documentation, presenting information in an intelligent and clear way to communicate requirements, business solution options and recommendations to different stakeholder audiences.
* Design, test and implement technical system changes to deliver ongoing continuous improvements to finance.
* Speak with existing system users to identify current processes including issues and exceptions and map out current working processes.
* Assist with the delivery of finance transformation projects and support wider business projects which impact finance.
* Build effective working relationships and influence across all levels, fostering an open and collaborative culture.
* Facilitate team-based continuous improvement activity.
* Participate and provide support at appropriate stages of BAU change initiatives to ensure successful implementation of initiatives, where it makes sense to do so.
* Ensure key system control and integrity is maintained and protected through any change requests.
* Support on finance system updates and maintenance development work across all finance systems.
* Challenge current practices, leading improvements in processes, whilst managing risk.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, values and guidelines and other relevant standards/regulations at all times.
Experience, knowledge, skills & qualifications:
* Qualified by experience or AAT qualified.
* Experience in an accounting/finance function.
* Experience as a finance system administrator and/or finance change role with experience in TM1 and Workday an advantage.
* Experience in a finance systems function across multiple tax and regulatory jurisdictions.
* Financial report writing experience.
* Understanding of finance processes and terminology.
* Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
* Strong mathematical, analytical, communication, and organization skills.
* A high level of oral and written communication skills, communicating effectively with senior managers, colleagues, internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to drive process improvement, based upon analysis of data.
* Work effectively under pressure and think clearly and logically in challenging situations.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
