Overview:
The Youth Strength Coach will be responsible for coaching children aged 9-15 in person at after school strength clubs in the teickenham and richmond areas.
This extra curricular role requires the knowledge of fitness and movement training in youths, an understanding of youth development, and the ability to engage and inspire young minds to build confidence with strength training.
1. Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Developing Age-Appropriate Training Programs. Create and implement strength training routines suitable for age groups within the 9-15 age range. Ensure the programs are engaging, safe, and tailored to individual levels and abilities. Educate students on the importance of strength training when required.
2. Instruction and Supervision:
Supervise groups and individuals behaviours and participation. Instruct and demonstrate techniques and use of equipment when required which is age appropriate. Closely supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
3. Monitoring and Reporting:
Ensure registers are taken and sign out procedures adhered to. Assess and monitor the progress of each students when needed. Provide any feedback and
modify session programmes as needed.
5. Equipment Management:
Ensure all equipment is safe, clean, and properly maintained. Recommend purchases or upgrades when necessary.
6. Collaboration and Coordination:
Communicate effectively with other external and internal staff members so to provide a well-rounded and excellent strength curriculum for all.
7. Promoting a Positive Environment:
Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment. Address and manage any behavioural issues in a constructive manner and report back in written form when needed.
