About the Opportunity
Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to:
1. Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West)
2. Sizewell C (located in the South East)
We are helping develop technologies in SMR (Small Modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station. Working in both client facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality, and timely solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
Jacobs are seeking a HVAC Engineer who will have the chance to provide technical and application support for our engineering and design group. Working with other members of our team, you'll assist with developing design criteria. Key responsibilities will be:
1. Large scale new build industrial HVAC experience (design, install, ideally full lifecycle)
2. Assist with developing design criteria and defining requirements for the systems
3. Developing conceptual design and preliminary design documents
4. Completing calculations related to sizing and selecting systems and participating in the development of Air flow schematic Duct and Instrumentation Diagrams, and general equipment arrangements.
Here's What You'll Need:
1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or other engineering degree)
2. 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical HVAC design
3. Design of air handling systems (100% outside air, recirculating, exhaust systems, dust collection)
4. Ability to lead multiple mechanical and plumbing resources on larger capital projects
5. Knowledge of design codes and standards
6. Ability to work on-site in a team environment co-located with the customer
7. Adhere to schedule deadlines and budget limitations
