As the Teaching, Learning and Quality Improvement Consultant you will work with the Quality Improvement Manager to evaluate and improve the learner and apprentice journey and quality of education across the organisation. You will work with others to enhance and improve the delegate and apprentice experience from enrolment to achievement, through the implementation of the Quality Improvement Strategy. You will contribute to the achievement of our strategic ambition of being the centre of excellence for all emergency services training.
This is a hybrid role with an average of 3 days a week onsite.

What you'll be doing:
* Best Practices: Stay updated on best practices in standards, teaching, learning, and assessment, and share this knowledge across the organisation.
* Ofsted Standards: Ensure full compliance with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework in all delivery and programme development.
* Quality Strategies: Support the development of quality assurance and improvement strategies, including relevant policies and procedures.
* Training Alignment: Align planned training with individual needs and business requirements to meet quality assurance and operational goals.
* Training Materials: Create and maintain a library of in-house training materials to support teaching and learning needs.
* Training Sessions: Develop, design, and deliver training and standardisation sessions, including teaching qualifications, to enhance education quality.
* Observations and Feedback: Conduct face-to-face and remote observations of the learner journey, providing clear developmental feedback.
* Coaching and Mentoring: Coach and mentor Delivery Coaches and Tutors to improve the learner journey and experience, ensuring a minimum Ofsted grade of 'Good'.
What we're looking for:
* To be fully conversant with Ofsted Education Inspection Framework 2019 ensuring these standards are fully embedded with all delivery and programme development.
* Full teaching qualification (PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed or equivalent).
* Minimum Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
* Recent experience of delivering good or better Apprenticeship/work-based learning outcomes.
* Experience of leading work-based learning quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
* Competent in using IT, online portfolios and possess digital skills to deliver remote and face-to-face CPD to colleagues.
* Knowledge of current thinking regarding effective pedagogy, best practice and teaching and learning research and the impact of these on the quality of learning.
* Experience of coaching and mentoring individuals to improve standards.

The Fire Service College (FSC) is a world-renowned further education training college that provides a range of resilience-focused courses and programmes ranging from apprenticeships to fully accredited qualifications. On a 300-acre site FSC provides both practical and classroom-based learning in addition to remote/customer site delivered courses. FSC courses and programmes are accredited with BAC, Skills for Justice, Highfield, City & Guilds, Pearson, IQ, Institution for Fire Engineers and Proboard/NFPA. Customers range from fire and rescue services, police forces, ambulance services, the military, various commercial organisations to individuals who wish to further their careers. FSC attracts learners from international fire and rescue services from the Middle East and across Europe.
