iO Associates is partnering with a globally recognised company to find an experienced SHE Manager who will ensure a safe working environment and minimise the environmental impact at their Eastbourne site. The Role
As the SHE Manager, you will:
1. Oversee all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) activities to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
2. Lead the development and implementation of SHE management systems across the Eastbourne site, ensuring Risk Control Elements (RCE) are followed.
3. Manage and develop a multi-skilled SHE team, identifying future talent and creating succession plans.
4. Collaborate with local management to assess risks and implement preventative measures.
5. Coordinate incident investigations, audits, and regulatory inspections, ensuring timely corrective actions.
6. Provide SHE training and support to employees and management, fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
7. Lead initiatives to support the company's sustainability programs and business continuity activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead SHE performance reviews, audits, and compliance checks.
2. Mentor and develop team members to tackle more ambitious challenges.
3. Ensure all SHE systems are streamlined and compliant with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
4. Engage with external and internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory adherence and best practices.
About You
You will bring:
1. A Diploma or NEBOSH Certificate in health and safety management and/or an Environmental Diploma.
2. 5+ years of SHE experience within a manufacturing environment, with a solid understanding of ISO standards.
3. Proven ability to improve processes, rewrite procedural documents, and deliver impactful training.
4. Excellent communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English.
5. Strong leadership skills, capable of motivating and inspiring teams.
6. Membership in professional bodies such as IEMA or IOSH is preferred.

Salary up to £60,000
