Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join our team at Unilever as an interim Process Project Engineer. This is a full-time temporary role based in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will lead the implementation of engineering projects within the Sourcing Units, including design, installation, and commissioning of process plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare equipment schedules, cost schedules, and project documentation to ensure smooth project execution.
* Install, test, and commission plant equipment related to engineering projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Conduct technical surveys and feasibility studies to inform project decisions.
* Create scope documents to guarantee equipment design and installation meet required standards.
* Collaborate with Process designers to ensure accurate plant and process designs.
* Manage contractors safely during installation, reviewing risk assessments and method statements, signing permits, completing audits, and verifying completion.
* Oversee civil aspects of plant installation, such as ground works for new vessel installations.
* Provide regular stakeholder updates on project progress.
Requirements
* Prior experience in hygienic plant and process design, managed equipment installation, and contractor management.
* Strong understanding of process P&IDs and plant flow layouts.
* Chemical engineering background or relevant experience in process projects.
* Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
* IOSH Managing Safety certification.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £55,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
