About The Role Waldon Telecom is an essential infrastructure services provider to the mobile telecommunication sector in the UK. We work on behalf of large mobile network operators to acquire, design, and construct mobile telecommunication base stations across the country. Due to our continued success and the win of a new workstream, we are looking for a Structural Engineer. What will you be doing? As the Structural Engineer, you will design in accordance with the customer specifications against the requested demand for new build, lift & shift & upgrade activities on telecoms sites on the Cornerstone NTQ/BAU portfolio for VF/VMO2. You will be working within a well-established & successful team environment, with CAD and structural design resources. This role fits within Waldon Telecom's AD&C Cornerstone Team and will work collaboratively with the SHEQ, PMO, Commercial teams. You can either work from home or on a hybrid basis out of our Diseworth, Derby or West Byfleet, Surrey office. You will be expected to attend ad hoc site visits - London and surrounding areas M25 Corridor. What will your key responsibilities be? Acting as the Design interface between Structural Design and other departments and external suppliers. Supporting the project team with client forecasting ensuring deliverables are provided within SLA. The creation of structural design scope and feasibility reports for use by Designers. Understanding company requirements and translate these into concise briefs for use by company partners. Being a strong advocate for Health &Safety and Quality by working with the Design team to identify best practice for Health & Safety. Reviewing proposals to consider that the structural design offered by Design team meet the scope requirements, and should they not ensure there is a clearly documented rationale as to why the chosen solution has been selected. Analysis of Telecom structures and the production of calculations for projects such as: Civils/Steel Frame /Piling and concrete, Telecoms rooftop design. Attending site to survey structures and identify required elements to allow structural calculations to be produced. Production of sketches and drawings both by hand and by AutoCAD. Designing in accordance with current design standards and CDM 2015 Regulations and Health & Safety regulations. What skills & experience are we looking for? Full UK Full Driving Licence. Willingness to travel. Chartered - Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers is preferred. BEng (Hons) or MEng Civil / Structural Engineering. Understanding of Building & Health & Safety Acts, including Building Regulations, Building Safety Act, British Standards/Eurocodes & Construction (Design & Management) 2015. Ability to interpret and author documentation to a good standard. Design flair and ability to propose solutions to clients. Computer literate - MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills. Ability to adapt and cope under pressure. Innovative. Energetic and self-motivated. Construction knowledge/experience from Telecoms design consultancy/contractor will be considered as an advantage. Experience in the use of AutoCAD, Robot Tedds will be considered as an advantage.
