We are looking for our next manufacturing shift manager to take over our day shift at our Fruit facility in the heart of the Somerset countryside in Crewkerne, near Yeovil. As a Shift manager you will be accountable for all operational aspects of Crewkerne site whilst on shift, so management of large teams in a manufacturing environment is essential. The role is 40 hours per week and will be expected to cover across our AM (0600-1400) & PM (1400-2200) shifts as required. Key responsibilities: Meeting operational plans (both production and hygiene) Ensure Health & Safety standards are always maintained (should call out H&S responsibility in it & first) Ensuring satisfactory handover of information to following shift, and escalate where appropriate Financial budget adherence Driving continuous improvement culture across the shift team, identifying improvement activities and following through to completion Working with other shifts and stakeholders realising improvement activities Leading investigation/identification of root cause for health and safety breaches, food safety or quality breaches, or mechanical breakdowns Sharing learnings and amending procedures to prevent reoccurrence Maintaining shift training compliance and recording keeping Ensuring all relevant Job Breakdown Sheets (standard operating procedures) are maintained Site contact for external hygiene chemical supplier, ensuring maintenance of chemical stock levels are maintained Sounds interesting, what do I need?
