Required Skills Level 3/4 Residential Childcare Job Summary Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home – Stoke-on-Trent We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team at our children’s home in Stoke-on-Trent. Salary: Deputy Manager: £14.50 per hour (Depending on Experience) Role Overview: As a Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Home Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the children’s home. You will provide strong leadership to the team, ensuring that the highest standards of care are delivered. Your role will be crucial in fostering a nurturing, safe, and supportive environment for the young people in our care, and you will help drive positive outcomes for each individual in our home. Responsibilities: Supporting the Home Manager in the effective management of the children’s home. Leading a team of Residential Support Workers to deliver high-quality care, ensuring that young people’s needs are met. Ensuring the safety and well being of all young people, providing guidance and support as required. Assisting with the development and implementation of individual care plans, focusing on each young person’s needs and goals. Supervising and mentoring staff, offering support and training to ensure continuous professional development. Liaising with external professionals, social workers, and other agencies to ensure integrated care for young people. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and safeguarding procedures. Contributing to the development and improvement of services within the home. What We’re Looking For: A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential. Proven experience in a residential childcare setting, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with both young people and external professionals. A commitment to providing high-quality care and improving the outcomes for children and young people in care. Experience in a supervisory or managerial role is highly desirable, but not essential.
