ABOUT THE WORTHGATE SCHOOL The Worthgate School offers an outstanding international pre-university educational experience to students aged 13 from all over the world. Students study for GCSEs, A levels, the International Baccalaureate and the University Foundation Programme; preparing for admission to universities across the country and elsewhere. OVERVIEW OF THE JOB You will work either 1:1 or in small group work students in line with your therapeutic recommendations and in agreement with your line manager. You will fulfil every aspect of the contract agreed with the school including, but not limited to all admin, reports and sessions. REPORTS TO You will be directly responsible to the Director of Safeguarding, Mental Health and Wellbeing. You will work within the framework set by and under the general direction of the Principal. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB - Liaise with staff regarding student bookings - Ensure therapeutic sessions are reliably set up and timely - Invoice the students / their families or the school (as agreed before taking a student on) according to your contract - Monitor business emails daily and respond as soon as you are able - Inform the school where you have concerns, either about a student s suitability for this type of therapy, or of a safeguarding nature. - Take into account the international nature of our students You will maintain standards of ethics and behaviour in and out of school. In particular, you will: Treat students with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect; Have regard for the need to safeguard students well-being; Show tolerance of and respect for the rights of others; Maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality; Help to create and maintain a safe working environment for everyone; Understand and act within the relevant School, national and statutory frameworks. PERSON SPECIFICATION The job requires that you have: A current DBS Effective time management skills; Strong communication abilities; Great interpersonal skills, both verbal and written Good levels of IT literacy; Reliable; Clarity of speech; A calm and diplomatic approach; It also requires that you are: Non-judgemental and passionate about your work; An advocate for cultural diversity and globalisation; A good team player, but also able to work autonomously; Good at prioritising conflicting demands; Able to meet deadlines; Neat, well-groomed and well-presented; A strong role model for young people.
