Warehouse Operative/Assistant – Inverness – Scotland
POSITION: Warehouse Operative – INVERNESS (IV1 1SY)
RESPONSIBLE TO: General Manager
JOB PURPOSE
* Working as part of a team assisting the Managers with the work that has to be carried out.
* Assisting customers when necessary to achieve a positive shopping experience.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Product presentation and pricing
* Helping to unload and unpack the product.
* Checking that the supplier has sent correct quality and quantity and products meet the Customers needs.
* Making sure all products are sleeved properly.
* Making sure all products are nicely displayed, empty buckets are removed.
* All products correctly bar-coded/priced on time.
2. Customer Orders
* Selection and packing of customer orders in preparation for daily deliveries.
3. Stock Control
* Helping with the price reduction of older product and help controlling the wastage.
* Be vigilant on the shop floor to help avoid pilfering.
* Carrying out/assist with the stock take.
4. General Jobs
* Helping with the loading/unloading of trucks/vans.
* Assisting customers with heavy products/customer trolleys etc.
* Helping in the transportation of any pallets, trolleys, boxes, buckets.
* Ensuring that the department is kept swept and department floors are washed down once a week.
* To assist, as required, in all other areas of the JVV Cash and Carry as required.
* Ensure Department is organised, tidy and efficient making it attractive to Customers.
* Contributing to a safe working place and comply with our Health and Safety Procedures.
