We have an opportunity for an Audio-Visual Technician or Specialist to join our established team as we provide professional and cost-effective audio-visual service supporting delivery of teaching in all University learning spaces across our campus and event production services. Audio-Visual Technician To thrive in this role you will need a clear analytical approach to problem solving, strong interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of our diverse technical team. The role will suit you if you have a varied event background, perhaps in audio mixing, lighting, and video production, or Audio-Visual installation work designing and defining Audio-Visual integrated systems. Work can be diverse using blend of equipment and software such as in video editing software, PowerPoint, Teams and office applications, voting systems, projection systems, video walls, scalers and switches, audio tech, interactive technology, 360, 3D and VR and immersive technology, stage lighting, digital streaming, casting, AV control systems, remote diagnostic tools, basic networking, and desktop computers and IT Key Responsibilities Assist major audio-visual installation and upgrade projects within specified budgets, including developing a specification and technical solutions with service users. Provide 2nd / 3rd line fault resolution of all Audio-Visual incidents Design, procure, and coordinate the implementation of projects with external suppliers and other University divisional support service managers. Staying appraised on new developments in audio visual equipment and systems to provide knowledge and guidance for faculty and senior managers in selection and support of audio-visual services and development of teaching methods. Assist with coordination and providing solutions for Audio-Visual Events (Physical or Online), Broadcast Media Production, Video Conferencing and Digital Signage. Provide professional input to minor University building projects and assist refurbishment projects in teaching space design and the integration of audio visual and presentation technology within such spaces. Some occasional out of hours support for scheduled conference and events will be required and is essential, paid at overtime rates, to provide cover as a Lead AV Specialist on campus.
