Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a chemical pathologist or metabolic medicine physician who has GMC specialist registration and is interested in taking up a consultant post within an innovative NHS Trust that is regarded as Outstanding by the CQC. We are looking for applicants with enthusiasm and drive, who are good communicators and team-workers, committed to patient safety and service quality.
Applications are invited for a whole-time post that is based at East Surrey Hospital which has active working collaborations across the Berkshire & Surrey Pathology Services.
The successful candidate will join the part-time clinical scientist at East Surrey Hospital in providing support to the on-site general biochemistry service, as well as duty biochemist and out-of-hours services on a rotational basis with consultant chemical pathologist and clinical scientist colleagues in the network Surrey hub team.
Main duties of the job
There are opportunities for flexible working, including from home and at other hospital sites in the network, as well as for developing a role in clinical leadership and academic, teaching and research activity through the Trust’s active R&D department.
The wider biochemistry department is strong clinically and analytically with an enthusiastic and supportive team of able chemical pathologists, clinical scientists and biomedical scientists providing a broad range of services including specialist analytical, interpretive and EQA services.
