Senior Portfolio Analyst
Location: Hybrid - open on location close to any Markerstudy office (Manchester, Peterborough, Sunderland, Kent, East Sussex, Portsmouth, Southport, Stoke and more)

The Senior Portfolio Analyst works in the Strategic Change team reporting to the Portfolio Manager. The purpose of the role is to collate, analyse and report on portfolio KPIs, to maximise business value through optimisation and oversight of project investments aligned to business goals and strategies.
The Senior Portfolio Analyst maintains the single source of truth and continually analyses the performance of the portfolio to facilitate effective decision making.
This is a hybrid role, with a mixture between working from home and from one of our offices.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Maintain the 'single version of the truth' of project information (e.g. status, costs, plans, resources) and aggregating and presenting that information to internal and external stakeholders.
2. Support effective portfolio management through analysis and reporting of KPIs and making recommendations.
3. Gather independent evidence that the information from projects and programmes is valid and the portfolio is on track to achieve its objectives and benefits.
4. Support the Portfolio Manager with capacity planning and resource management to optimise the delivery of the portfolio.
5. Support the continuous review and improvement of the Change framework to ensure management of projects and programmes within the portfolios are comprehensive and consistent across different initiatives.
6. Identify issues through monitoring of key controls, which may impact the successful delivery of the portfolio's aims.
7. Maintain the portfolio level plans, including dependencies and resource requirements, to avoid bottlenecks and conflicting demands.
8. Work with the Finance Business Partner to maintain a consolidated portfolio view of budgets and tracking actual and forecast costs.
9. Report and monitor portfolio risks (threats and opportunities).
10. Coordinate the key project controls (e.g. roadmap, change plan, critical path/dependency maps).
11. Ensure appropriate status reporting to proactively raise issues, risks, deviations from plan and decisions needed with the programme manager for action.
12. Produce reports for governance forums and communications.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Strong experience in portfolio analysis.
2. Experience working with large volumes of data and data analysis.
3. Experienced in producing and presenting MI and BI.
4. Strong knowledge of change frameworks and the project lifecycle.
5. Portfolio planning and scheduling.
6. Resource management and capacity planning.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. PPM tooling.
9. MS Office - including advanced Excel.
10. Power BI development.
11. MS Project.
