Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for two Assistant Accountants to join our Finance team. One will be based at our Group head office in Barlborough, Chesterfield and the other at our East Midlands head office in Nottingham. The Role Do you thrive in a fast paced and driven environment? If yes, then look no further, your next career could be with us The role of Assistant Accountant is to take responsibility for a variety of accounting tasks to ensure that financial information is reported accurately and reconciled on a monthly basis on behalf of the Avant Homes regional businesses. As our Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide variety of duties including the delivery of accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting information within a fast-paced working environment. The role will be best suited to an adaptable and resilient individual who is able to demonstrate their interest and enthusiasm in forging a career within the financial sector. Key duties and requirements You will also be responsible for but not limited to; Production of monthly Inter Company Reconciliations. Production of Balance Sheet Reconciliations. Production of P&L Reconciliations. Maintenance and reconciliation of Fixed Asset Register. Preparation and review of all Prepayments & Accruals. Preparation and posting of journals. Assistance in the preparation of the weekly cashflow forecast. Adhering to Group Policies and Processes within the department. Posting expenses analysis to the COINS ledger. Any other duties as reasonably requested. Who are we looking for? To be successful as our Assistant Accountant, you will be either full or part qualified in either AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA. You will also possess; Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with working knowledge of VLookups, Pivot tables etc. A keen eye for detail. Strong presentation skills along with ability to analyse, process and evaluate financial data. Knowledge and experience of balance sheet reconciliations. The ability to work independently to deadlines, in particular at month end and year end. A flexible attitude to changing business needs. What will you get in return?
