You will generate engaging features for The Mirror and all Reach Magazine titles including OK!, New, S magazine, Notebook and Love Sunday. We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds so we can continue to diversify our content.
We are looking for our new Features Writer to join us from late June 2025.
This role is home and hub based linked to our Canary Wharf hub in London (3 days per week from hub minimum). We are therefore open to candidates based in and around London.

Job Description
What will the role involve?
You will come up with brilliant exclusive features, splashes, and sparkling ideas with a focus on real life. Covering everything from uplifting lifestyle transformations and quirky relationships to hard-hitting experiences about personal trauma and overcoming adversity. You will create engaging campaigns and comment pieces that ensure the Mirror and magazine features are both agenda-setting and consistent with brand styles.
You will generate and pitch exclusive daily ideas and features that will work across both print and digital, utilising your contacts book to scoop high-profile interviews. You will step up to edit copy and lead shifts when needed, collaborating with our social and picture desks to boost yours and your team’s content. This role will involve working shifts on a rota basis including evenings and weekends, so a flexible approach is required.
Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
You are an experienced NCTJ/NQJ (or equivalent) qualified journalist with up-to-date media law and IPSO code knowledge. You have a proven track record of writing similar features content in a fast-paced national, magazines, or large regional newsroom environment. Your contacts book is unrivalled and your proven track record for organising and undertaking high-profile interviews sets you apart.
You have the empathy and versatility to write about people’s real-life experiences with both understanding and flair. You are a self-starter who is bursting with ideas for features content and is ready to hit the ground running. You are ready to step up to assist with copy editing and ideally have prior experience in leading shifts.
