Main duties of the job
You will be involved in undertaking pressure measurements, visual fields, visual acuity testing, Pentacam imaging, and other clinical techniques essential to the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of ophthalmic disorders. If you are keen to learn new skills and take on new challenges, then this post is for you; full training will be given.
Job responsibilities
* To provide visual assessments including but not limited to visual fields, visual acuity, pentacam, and intra-ocular pressure (IOP) measurement which provide information for clinical decisions/treatments of eye and neurological conditions.
* Participate in research and medical audit projects as required.
* To perform administrative and clerical tasks as necessary for the efficiency of the service.
Person Specification
KNOWLEDGE
* Background knowledge of common eye disorders and eye-related neurological conditions.
SKILLS
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Basic IT skills.
EXPERIENCE
* Previous experience within a similar field.
QUALIFICATIONS
* 2 A-Levels at grade C or above or NVQ Level 3/equivalent experience.
PERSONALITY/ DISPOSITION
* Ability to communicate with members of the public and healthcare providers.
* Ability to work effectively under supervision as part of a team.
