About The Role: As a Full-time Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students facing behavioural challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to support both teachers and students in managing and improving behaviour in the classroom, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work with students on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping them develop social and emotional skills, promoting positive behaviour and engagement and ensuring they are provided with the necessary support to access their learning fully. Responsibilities of Full-time Behaviour Support Assistant: Provide support to students with behavioural challenges, both inside and outside the classroom. Help create and implement individual behaviour support plans in collaboration with teaching staff and SENCo. Encourage students to develop social, emotional and behavioural skills. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed. Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a focused and calm learning environment. Work closely with students to promote engagement in lessons and positive peer interactions. Maintain clear records of student progress and behavioural developments. The successful candidate will: Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a support or teaching assistant role, particularly with those with behavioural needs. A compassionate and patient nature, with a strong desire to help students overcome challenges. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with students, teachers and parents. A clear understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required. A commitment to promoting an inclusive and respectful environment for all students.
