A leading provider of engineering services to heavy industry, including Energy, Refinery, Aggregate and utilities are looking a Mechanical Engineer. Working at the head office in the Brentwood area as well as covering an array of sites across the UK. If you have experience within heavy engineering sectors, good rotating equipment knowledge and hands on skills then we want to hear from you.
Duties:
Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on rotating equipment, including large turbines and a range of pumps.
Conduct maintenance on auxiliary and balance of plant (BOP) equipment
Utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers and alignment tooling.
Complete workshop and field service activities, including detailed reports on findings, condition assessments, and recommendations.
Diagnose mechanical equipment issues within the heavy engineering sectors.
Conduct fault finding activities, defect repairs and routine maintenance on commercial and heavy industry machinery
Assist and lead planned projects and outages as required.
Managing work schedules efficiently.
Experience required:
Mechanical qualifications, such as ONC & HNC, NVQ, or equivalent is essential.
Must have proven experience in fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning.
Strong customer service and communications skills, both verbal and in written are required.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well in a team.
A full, preferably clean, driving license is essential.
Must be ability to pass security clearances.
Relevant knowledge, training, and experience in heavy engineering sectors are critical.
Experience in the power generation sector, particularly with prime movers and BOP is preferable.
OEM pump or turbine experience and a strong background in rotating equipment preferred
Strong technical abilities, including measuring and reporting skills.
Must be physical fitness with a flexible and positive outlook.
Must be available for callouts on a 1 in 5 basis.
A willingness to work away from home when necessary is necessary.

Salary £34,000 to £47,000 depending on experience
