As a Nurse Associate, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between healthcare assistants and registered nurses. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and person-centered care to patients. You are required to act within your professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside a multi-disciplinary team within general practice. The post holder will contribute to providing nursing care to patients registered in the GP practice.
Main duties of the job
Performing phlebotomy, health checks, and routine patient monitoring.
Administering immunisations as part of the NHS immunisation programme, including baby immunisations.
Supporting the management of chronic diseases.
Maintaining practice stock and supplies to ensure smooth operations.
Acting as a chaperone and assisting patients during procedures where appropriate.
Participating in Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), quality contract, and Directed Enhanced Services (DES) requirements.
Providing wound care and dressing services.
Conducting cervical cytology (smear tests) where qualified.

Clinical Responsibilities:
Phlebotomy and Monitoring:
Perform blood tests, health checks, and routine monitoring.
Immunisations:
Administer immunisations as part of the NHS vaccination programme, including baby immunisations.
Chronic Disease Management:
Support the clinical team in managing chronic diseases by undertaking monitoring and follow-up care in line with care plans.
Provide wound care and dressing services, ensuring high standards of patient care.
Cervical Cytology:
Conduct cervical cytology (smear tests) if trained and qualified.
Chaperone and assist patients during procedures as needed, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
Health Promotion:
Provide education and advice to patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Stock Management:
Monitor and maintain practice stock, ensuring adequate supplies of medical equipment and consumables.
Data and Reporting:
Participate in practice Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), quality contract, and Directed Enhanced Services (DES) requirements.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in line with professional standards and practice policies.
Professional Responsibilities:
Training and Development:
Maintain professional registration with the NMC and engage in ongoing professional development.
Participate in training, including mandatory updates and practice-specific training.
Work collaboratively with the clinical and non-clinical team to deliver patient-centered care.

Adhere to the practices clinical governance framework, including infection prevention, safeguarding, and health and safety policies.
