We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a passionate and creative Art Psychotherapist to join our team at Ivetsey Bank Hospital. What you'll be working:
This role is part-time, 7.5 hours per week.
What you'll be doing:
* To work as part of the therapy team in conducting patient assessments to understand their mental health needs and therapeutic goals
* Working with the team to complete formulations and developing and implementing treatment plans for patients.
* Facilitating art therapy sessions using various artistic mediums such as painting, drawing, sand and/or lego.
* Facilitating groups to support emotional regulation through the expression of art.
* Interpreting clients' artwork to gain insights into their emotional and psychological state.
* Where necessary to provide support and guidance for parents/carers in the form of psycho-education.
* Attend regular MDT/CPA meeting and provide feedback.
* To undertake clinical supervision in accordance with BACP guidelines and participate in regular line management meetings.
* To keep accurate patient records and write reports as required.
* Participating in continued education and professional development activities
* Adhering to ethical guidelines and maintaining client confidentiality
What you'll have:
* Master's degree in Art Therapy or a related field
* BACP/HCPC registration as an Art Psychotherapist (trainees close to registration will be considered)
* Experience working with diverse populations
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in various artistic techniques and materials
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Knowledge of psychological theories and therapeutic practices
* Experience in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care
* Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
* Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and psychological principles
* Ability to establish therapeutic rapport with clients
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
* Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
* Sensitivity to cultural and social diversity
* Professionalism and adherence to ethical standards
* Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
