This is a key role within the new Smart Metering team, responsible for producing and maintaining existing processes alongside identifying improvements to produce new lean business processes, which will enable an efficient and customer focused approach to our smart metering deployment activities.
Principal accountabilities
This role is responsible for working with colleagues across the Metering team and with subject matter experts across and outside the business (leakage, customer, developer, non-household, demand management, billing, technology, supply chain etc) to identify the impacted processes and ensure a smooth transition to new ways of working.
Typically, you will be required to:
* Ensure all our existing end to end business processes are accurately documented, with resources (internal teams / external supply chain) and technology (systems) overlaid.
* Develop a continuous improvement plan to systematically review and challenge all processes.
* Undertake process improvements initially targeting the greatest areas of wastage and inefficiency.
* Identify continuous improvement projects for consideration and prioritisation by the wider business and supply chain.
* Ensure the customer and colleague experience is at the forefront of any Continuous Improvement projects, and balance this with the needs of the business.
* Work with the wider business in the creation of Business Cases, to support the initiation and mobilisation of any continuous improvement projects.
* Support and in some instances lead the business endorsed continuous improvement projects, bringing together the SMEs and wider resources as required.
* Be a change champion, implementing successful business change across all areas of the end to end business process and associated customer journeys.
* Follow the agreed project management principles and approach to deliver within the cost, quality, time, and output parameters whilst managing risks, issues and change.
* Provide periodic reporting on the progress of the continuous improvement plan (both process improvements and continuous improvement projects) alongside the longer-term roadmap of improvement to deliver the strategic outcomes for our business, customers and wider stakeholders.
* Identify and share lessons learnt to drive continuous improvement.
* Ensure work undertaken maintains company standards and complies with regulations.
Requirements
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent business process improvement qualification.
* Proven continuous process improvement and change management experience.
* Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Good knowledge of business process development and implementation.
* Ability to be self-managed to ensure deadlines and deliverables are achieved.
* Influencing and Negotiating skills, to ensure best outcome for our business and customers.
* Logical approach to Process Improvement and Process Mapping Skills.
