Henshaws College are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Lead Nurse with a broad range of nursing knowledge and experience to lead the clinical team in developing quality health care plans and risk assessments for students with a range of clinical needs.
This is a newly developed role with a large focus on quality and maintaining safe practice.
This role will allow you to access specialist training and supervision to ensure we are providing the most current research based practice to meet students holistic and sometimes complex health needs.
Our students are young adults aged 16-25 with a range of learning disabilities. Combining day and residential students along with respite stays requires excellent planning and organizational skills and can present daily challenges making for an exciting role.

This role requires flexible working with a requirement to work a minimum of 1 late shift per week and 1 weekend per half term.
Full time/ part time/ job share and term time only contracts negotiable
Main duties of the job
A Registered Nurse with a current NMC PIN Number
Evidence of a recognised teaching qualification and experience of mentoring, supervising and assessing nursing students
Experience and good understanding of regulations and guidance around supervision and delegation of nursing care tasks consistent with Nursing an Midwifery Council guidelines
Understanding of Clinical Governance and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety/CQC

Job responsibilities
To be the lead RGN responsible for the organisation and completion of studentassessments, clinical care planning and risk assessments of any clinical/health needs for students
To be a source of clinical expertise to Henshawsstaff and students demonstrating clinical reasoning, critical thinking,reflection and analysis to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Be the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)operational support to the identified IPC lead nurse to help implement the IPCpolicies into practice.
To line manage the Nurse Associate and/or the Nursing assistants,providing day to day support and organising the team workload to ensure aneffective service
To be an integral part of the clinical teamsupporting in the clinical education programme, training and competencyassessing of delegated clinical skills
To work as part of the wider clinical team to provide direct support tostudents with any health needs, completing a range of nursing procedures whenrequired
