We are seeking a suitably qualified Band 6 nurse to join the Assertive Outreach Team (AOT) here in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to positively engage with and change the lives of service users who have a severe and enduring mental illness and who have disengaged with mental health services.
Currently, the team is funded to provide a 5-day-a-week service, but it is possible that the strategic goal will develop to move to a 7-day service, dependent on additional funding. The successful candidate will need to be available to work flexibly alongside the development of this team.
The AOT offers a city-wide service and the aim of the team is to work with physical health, social, and economic services to reduce exclusion and to promote the psychological needs of service users where, due to the lack of visibility, access to services is often denied to them.
You will need to have the enthusiasm for, and experience of, working with service users with complex needs who experience difficulty in engaging with mainstream services.
You will be responsible for setting supervision and support systems for junior AOT staff in their delivery of interventions and to deliver excellent evidence-based care to patients within the service.
This Advert may be closed should we receive a high number of applicants.
