Motor Finance Regional Specialist Underwriter
As a regional specialist, its essential you can fit into a fast-paced, evolving, and innovative environment. Our products will challenge the status quo meaning you will be required to work with the underwriting lead to ensure our processes are effective and provide the efficiency required to deliver exceptional experiences to our customers. We are looking for someone who is customer and business focused with a motivation to succeed and progress within this role. Candidates will be responsible for managing their workload efficiently whilst maintaining a high accuracy of decisioning, enabling customers to continue their car buying journey. It is key to actively engage in a collaborative and supportive team environment, where you share best practise and knowledge with your colleagues.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, and has extensive knowledge in Motor Finance Underwriting, understanding the risk benefits of the secured nature of the product offering. You will be decisioning customers that have applied online or at the dealership, so decisioning efficiency is just as important as decision accuracy and quality of work.
You will be expected to drive positive customer experiences by adhering to SLA’s. You will be an integral part of our customers car buying experience, assessing affordability and sustainability of HP and PCP products for customers looking to fund their vehicles via the new Admiral Money proposition. You will be working closely with dealerships in your region to ensure speedy outcomes for customers and dealers.

Key Responsibilities
SME:
1. Serve as a subject matter expert for the Underwriting team as well as internal departments to optimise policies and processes.
2. Engage with other SME’s across the Motor Finance function to make suggestions to improve rule set and customer experience.
Assessment and decisioning:
3. Assess applications in line with our risk appetite utilising the tools available to you, within expected timescales.
4. Ensure strong performance by putting quality of work and decisioning accuracy at the forefront.
Sharing Best Practice:
5. As this role is based in a new and growing team, you will be responsible for ensuring that best practise and expertise is shared across the operational teams, and to wider business areas where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
6. Previous underwriting experience in the motor finance industry, with a strong appetite for providing great customer outcomes.
7. Sound analytical skillset.
8. Knowledge of FCA rulebook preferable but not essential
9. You have effective communication skills combined with the ability to communicate clearly to all staff members.
10. You have good telephony skills and experience talking to both customers and dealers.
11. You have strong literacy and numerical skills.
12. You are willing to be developed, coached, and to take on board feedback.
13. You embrace working in a demanding environment and are highly motivated.
14. You are used to working to deadlines and meeting KPI’s.
15. You are pro-active, organised, and able to manage your time effectively and take initiative.
16. You have a positive work ethic and have a can-do attitude when supporting business in change.
17. You are willing to share your ideas and contribute to the business.
18. Experience/good knowledge of: Open Banking CIFAS HP & PCP Products
