Job Role:
Bolton Council are opening a third Intermediate care unit (1-6 week turnaround) from the start of December. Adult Case Supervisors needed to join the management team and be part of shaping a new unit. The Care Supervisors will be overseeing Care assistants and senior care assistants, managing absence, staff supervision, responsibility for building in Registered manager's absence, admissions and discharges, and involved with Multi-Disciplinary Teams, problem solving.
To ensure all care is delivered in line with the policies, procedures, and quality standards of the department and to the standard required by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). To support the Service Manager in the delivery of onsite care provision within the bed-based service, that is responsive to people’s needs. To contribute to the overall management, development, and evaluation of the bed-based service, promoting best practice and compassionate care and support. To be responsible for overall building security and wellbeing of service users throughout the day.
Essential Experience required:
Should have managerial or leadership skills and 2 years of experience. Ideally NVQ or equivalent level 3, but not essential as long as they have experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To take responsibility, on a day-to-day basis, for the organisation and delivery of quality service within the bed-based unit, and be directly involved in the provision of care for service users, supporting staff to provide practical and person-centred care.
2. To effectively manage and support the work of staff in the bed base, enabling the delivery of a responsive service in accordance with agreed procedures and best practice.
3. To review referrals into the bed-based units, admitting people as appropriate, and completing admission documentation in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
4. To contribute to the planning, provision, and review of an individual’s care and skill plans, ensuring that agreed standards of care are delivered to meet individual needs.
5. To undertake staff supervisions and direct observations of staff to support quality practice and improvement, providing constructive feedback and support.
6. To support the manager to ensure the Council's service policies and key aims are carried out, in accordance with CQC standards.
7. To support seniors with the administration of medication, in line with agreed procedures.
8. To contribute and support multi-disciplinary teams, sharing appropriate information, liaising and working effectively with families or carers to help deliver individualised programmes of care.
9. To ensure the protection and safeguarding of individuals, responding to emergency situations appropriately, by following agreed protocols.
10. To ensure the security of the premises throughout the day, adhering to building and evacuation policies.
11. To assist in the recruitment and selection of staff, as appropriate in accordance with the Code of Practice.
12. To ensure that administrative and financial duties are undertaken in respect of the management of the establishment, as appropriate.
13. To be a member of the establishment management team.
