Electric Drive Software Development Engineer
About the Team:
We are looking for a new colleague in an exciting role for our location in Solihull. Our team is responsible for the development and release of motor control software globally for ZF. With several high-profile and challenging global applications, such as X-By-Wire, optimised high-quality motor control is critical. An experienced software engineer is required to join the team and coordinate the delivery of motor control software into the base software teams.
What you can look forward to as Electric Drive Software Development Engineer:
* You will be responsible for managing and coordinating our monthly component release into the Base Software (BSW) teams, working with the motor control engineers to achieve this.
* You will ensure that the releases are process compliant and that all software components are fully documented and validated.
* Maintain our software architecture, align with BSW and other stakeholders, and ensure functionality is fully traceable back to requirements.
* Support the motor control team with tool specific issues and integration knowledge.
* Enhance the code generation toolset and processes to deliver new features and functionality with increased efficiency.
Your Profile as Electric Drive Software Development Engineer:
* Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or extensive experience in embedded software development.
* Experience using the code generation tool TargetLink as well as in functional development using MATLAB / Simulink.
* Good knowledge of C language and strong analysis capabilities, ability to understand and debug complex software components.
* Familiarity with Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, MISRA-C or equivalents.
* Very good English (spoken and written) as part of an intercultural team environment.
* Experience in the control of permanent magnet synchronous machines desirable.
* Experience of DevOps and CI processes such as Azure and experience in communication and calibration tools (e.g. CANape, CANalyzer) or similar in the Industry, desirable.
* Knowledge of safety-critical applications and/or (automotive) component development desirable.
* SysML knowledge and experience of tools such as Rhapsody desirable.
