The Rural Payments and Services is delivered by the Scottish Government’s Rural Payments and Inspections Division (RPID), with delivery partners. We have around 600 staff in 17 area offices throughout Scotland providing a range of services – some in the office covering administration and developing policy, others out in the field updating maps or conducting inspections. The Customer Service Branch in Perth are looking for a Administrative Officer to join them to help deliver their key responsibilities: • payment of Common Agricultural Policy scheme grants and subsidies. This is around £650m per annum • inspection of agricultural land and livestock to ensure compliance with regulations The Perth Office Administrative Officer is responsible for delivering a high quality customer service through accurate administration and inspection of subsidy claims, which result in £700 million of direct aid into the Scottish rural economy. Responsibilities Receipting, data capture, assessment and authorisations of applications and claims under a range of agricultural and environmental schemes. Dealing with telephone, written and face to face enquiries from both internal and external customers including assisting with registration and navigation of RPID's online systems. Using Rural Payments and Services and other IT systems, make assessments of information submitted on businesses and their applications, including data capture of information submitted. General administrative duties, including filing, acknowledgement and onward processing of mail, compilation of or inspection files and maintaining spreadsheet information. Administrative duties within the potato department, dealing with customers, processing applications and printing labels. Producing Phytosanitary Certificates and Plant Passports Reception Duty Ensuring efficient back of house services working across enabling functions Providing efficient, effective and proactive support to a team Responsibilities Success Profile Success profiles are specific to each job and they include the mix of skills, experience and behaviours candidates will be assessed on.
