Quality Engineer, Manufacturing/Engineering, QMS, H&S, Lymington, Southampton to £37,000
A leading manufacturing firm based near Southampton is requiring a Quality Engineer with additional Health and Safety and Engineering skills. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for maintaining quality control systems, assuring key supplier conducting root cause analysis, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable monitoring and compliance of manufacturing processes.
The Quality Engineer will also work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and consistent approach to quality assurance and compliance with the Company's procedures.
Main Duties
1. Acts as Quality function lead for QEHS, supporting the wider Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety functions.
2. Provide incoming inspections of drawing items.
3. Strong working knowledge of QMS ISO.
4. Participate in Process improvement activities, providing advice and practical assistance in the implementation of process improvements.
5. Complete root cause analysis and investigations on production defects, supplier deliveries, and customer returns.
6. Comply with and update as required Gill's Quality Management, Environmental and Health and Safety management systems.
7. Perform Quality Assurance, Control, and audit activities.
8. Collate data of non-conforming processes or products and contribute to monthly KPI reporting that helps show real performance of Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety performance.
9. Work within a team environment providing guidance, advice, and assistance as required.
The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills and good experience with quality assurance methodologies and proficiency in data analysis. They should be detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
1. Experience in Quality / Process improvement in a manufacturing and design industry.
2. Experience with incoming inspection techniques for mechanical and electrical products.
3. Track record of implementing and driving measurable improvement programs.
4. Ability to engage throughout a multifunctional operation.
5. Attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
7. Well organized and methodical.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Successful experience of implementing changes.
10. Ability to achieve results in a fast-moving technological environment.
11. Fluent with MS Office for presentations and KPI reporting.
