Workshop Co-ordinator (052jc) – Downton, Wiltshire – circa £30k Temp to Perm

My client specialises in restoring and building some of the world’s finest vintage and classic engines, alongside manufacturing white metal bearings and delivering precision machining services. DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
This role will start off as a 12 week temporary role looking to convert to a permanent role after the initial contract.
About the Role:
As the Workshop Co-ordinator, you’ll be the driving force behind the day to day operations, ensuring the smooth running of engine restoration and precision machining projects. From enquiry to completion, you’ll oversee quotations, project planning, supply chain management, invoicing, and client relations—delivering high-quality results every time.
Therefore, your key responsibilities will include:
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, keeping everything on track.
• Oversee cost estimation, financial tracking, and invoice preparation.
• Provide exceptional client communication, ensuring expectations are met.
• Develop strong client and supplier relationships to drive new business.
• Implement and manage office systems and procedures to maximise efficiency.
• Maintain the highest standards of health and safety.
• Anticipate challenges and proactively find solutions.
• Ensure smooth arrival, exit, and quality control of parts and completed jobs.
Who You Are:
• A highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail.
• A problem solver who can anticipate challenges and offer effective solutions.
• Having a great affinity for numbers, you are someone who has the ability to build robust costing models to deliver accurate estimates, manage financial and job tracking systems as well as invoicing
• A confident communicator, you will be an excellent people person with an ability to build strong customer and supplier relationships.
• Knowledgeable in office management systems and procedures.
• Committed to maintaining health and safety standards.
