Background and Service
CAVDAS brings together established, experienced, well-respected providers of drug and alcohol support services, so it’s easier for people to find and get the help they need. Each organisation brings its own set of specialisms to the Alliance, and we also have a very strong peer support team. This means every individual can have the right help to get where they want to be at every step, and it means we can easily further develop services as required.
The Alliance is made up of Kaleidoscope, Recovery Cymru, Barod and, uniquely, the commissioning body Cardiff and Vale Substance Misuse Area Planning Board and has strategic partnerships with Pobl and G4S.
Individual supervision will be provided six weekly in line with CAVDAS partner organisation policy.
CAVDAS is committed to developing and expanding our digital presence and engagement including our website, online interventions, online resources and harm reduction tools and social media platforms. We are seeking a creative, digital communications lead who can help us to realise our digital aims – making the most of existing resources and exploring innovative new approaches to drug and alcohol treatment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Scope and collate existing online resources and interventions for drug and alcohol use.
* Set objectives for the development of social media channels and develop a CAVDAS digital strategy and plan for delivery.
* Manage monitoring and analytics against the CAVDAS digital strategy.
* Co-ordinate digital communications in partnership with wider communication strategies and in partnership with internal leads.
* Work closely with CAVDAS’ external consultancy on digital strategy, stakeholder engagement and wider communications campaign activity, as required.
Digital content creation
* Maintain and refresh CAVDAS social media channels and website.
* Manage the day-to-day execution of social media messaging and community engagement.
* Promote and coordinate online reviews of CAVDAS.
* Scope and prepare content for drop-in screens within bases.
* Assist with the creation/delivery of CAVDAS webinars, podcasts, infographics.
* Manage user generated and third-party content.
* Explore opportunities for the production and delivery of media rich content, e.g. live streaming, podcasts, webinars, videos etc.
Internal support & training
* Manage our existing online intervention tool Breaking Free online.
* Providing guidance and coaching to CAVDAS staff and Service users.
* Assist CAVDAS contact team with website tools.
* Design and coordinate digital surveys.
* Act as a coach and ambassador for social media and digital engagement for other CAVDAS teams.
* Manage community user accounts and activity (working with IT and web teams).
Professional Development
* Help with the induction and orientation of new staff, volunteers and students.
* Ensure professional development by seeking regular supervision and annual appraisals.
* Effectively manage own time and prioritise workload, maintaining own administration and accurate personal records regarding travel, diary appointments, TOIL, and expenses incurred.

This post has been identified as requiring evidence of BBV immunisation status to carry out the role effectively. The role may require the post holder to undertake Dry Blood Spot Testing/ Substance Use Testing/ Working in Needle Exchange or is a clinical role and therefore CAVDAS wishes to ensure that staff are not at risk of infection or transmission of a disease that may affect their own or patient safety. Staff will therefore need to evidence their immunisation history, exemption, or non-responder on commencement of employment or at routine intervals at the request of the Alliance.

Role specific requirements
* Prepared to undertake enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) vetting.
The post holder will have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable adults/children (as appropriate) where the employee has responsibility or contact with the vulnerable person.
CAVDAS may consider the appointment of a candidate who is unable to meet a particular requirement if they offer other skills, knowledge, or experience valuable to the role and the host Organisation. * Driving Licence: This role involves travel across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to offices and community settings (with occasional possibility of transporting volunteers/clients). Therefore, the post holder is required to have a full current driving licence, permitting them to drive their vehicle in the UK, and have full access to their own personal mode of transport which is insured for business use.
