Human Services is seeking compassionate individuals to join our dedicated team, providing Home Care across Wakefield, Leeds, and surrounding areas. Our team supports clients in their daily lives, ensuring they experience the best possible quality of life. We work in partnership with local councils and are passionate about delivering exceptional care.
This role involves working with clients in their own homes, the community, and occasionally working alone, during both day and night shifts. A caring nature, excellent communication skills, and a calm demeanor are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care to meet individual client needs.
- Promote dignity, respect, and personal choice in all care tasks.
- Encourage client independence wherever possible.
- Communicate clearly with clients.
- Ensure safeguarding of clients is a priority.
- Maintain client confidentiality.

Duties:
- Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dental hygiene, and toileting.
- Administer and manage medication, including audits and collecting prescriptions.
- Support clients with eating, drinking, and ensuring proper nutrition.
- Carry out infection control by cleaning spaces such as bathrooms and kitchens.
- Maintain health and safety, ensuring no hazards are present in the client’s home.
- Safely use mobility aids such as hoists, wheelchairs, and walking frames.
- Help with light housework, such as vacuuming, laundry, and bed making, based on individual client needs.
- Support clients in social activities like shopping, visiting friends, or pursuing hobbies.
- Assist clients with medical appointments and liaise with health professionals and families.
- Report changes in client health or home conditions, and respond to emergencies or safeguarding concerns.
- Ensure all client information remains confidential.
- Work collaboratively with the Human Services team and follow company policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and well-being programs.
Person Specification:
- Full Driver's Licence (essential).
- Own car (desirable).
- Aged 18 years or above.
- Satisfactory DBS or police clearance.
- Relevant care or health certification.
- Experience in healthcare (preferred).
- Willingness to learn.
Experience:
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals.
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in the care environment is advantageous.
- Mileage paid to car drivers.
Skills:
- Good organisational and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard clients.
- Teamwork and understanding the needs of individuals requiring care.
- Basic IT, numeracy, and literacy skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety in home care.
