Permanent Financial Controller Job - Agri/manufacturing company based in County Armagh

This is a lead role in a very successful and growing Agri/Food manufacturing business based in Armagh. Our client has successfully developed a robust finance team and is seeking to appoint a highly experienced and driven Financial Controller that will continue to partner at levels of the business and drive business improvement.
Your new role
Working closely with the Managing Director, you will manage the day-to-day finance operations and support the delivery of the overall group strategy through the provision of timely and accurate financial and management information.
You will be responsible for the following:
1. Finalise and present the monthly management accounts, both on a consolidated and individual basis, for all companies monthly.
2. Develop the monthly management accounts to be representative of each P&L.
3. Weekly cost reviews of all companies, providing projections, budgets and cash flow forecasts.
4. Preparation and development of the annual budgeting cycles, including reviewing margins and product lines.
5. Manage the company cash flow and AP function.
6. Review existing reporting and improve where necessary.
7. Improve current accounting procedures, reinforce new controls and processes to ensure more timely and accurate accounts reporting.
8. Oversee the production & development of current KPI reports on sales, products, driving routes, customers etc. to ensure they reach management each week in a timely manner.
9. Assist in the production of the annual Statutory Financial Statements for all companies within the group and assist in managing the year-end consolidation process for auditors and the banks.
10. Develop and manage existing banking relationships.
11. Maintain a working relationship with Revenue and HMRC authorities to support VAT & Corporation tax compliance.
12. Finalise all VAT returns and ensure submissions are on time.
13. Assist in the preparation of Research & Development claims for both ROI and NI Companies.
14. Recruit, manage and mentor all members of the accounts team, developing staff through the company's growth.
15. Oversee Payroll procedures and assist when cover is needed.
16. Oversee the Stock/Inventory staff with a view to implementing an ERP System.
17. Oversee the grant application process and ensure the company is availing of all application aid.
18. Liaise with the PO in terms of the levy reconciliation and grant aid available.
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or QBE equivalent) and up to date on current accounting standards and practices, with experience within the Food/Production Industry.
* Good communication and networking skills across all levels.
* Proven ability to develop and improve working procedures and processes.
* Highly organised and efficient with the ability to work under pressure, manage a diverse and competing workload ensuring deadlines are met.
* IT literate, and proficient in Sage 50 accounts and Excel.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm
