Facilities Manager

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced M&E Maintenance Manager to join their office in St Alban's. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all facilities and engineers, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and maintaining a steady pipeline of work. The ideal candidate will have a trade background or Mechanical / Electrical Engineering background and a minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in facilities management.
DUTIES
1. Responsible for managing the in-house engineering team and third-party contractors.
2. Deliver planned preventative (PPM) and emergency reactive maintenance across the portfolio.
3. Develop the engineering team’s practices to ensure compliance with legislation, value for money, and meeting user expectations.
4. Prioritise workloads, ensuring accurate maintenance data recording, maintaining all assets.
5. Develop a customer-focused team, supporting various engineering projects.
6. Act as the Authorised/Responsible Person for various systems following training and certification.
7. Manage the operational maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant maintenance of all building services.
8. Provide technical support and direction to the maintenance team and external contractors.
9. Maintain the highest standards.
10. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure optimal performance of engineering plants across all sites.
11. Complete quotations.
12. Ensure invoicing is always up to date.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. A trade background in a mechanical or electrical discipline is essential.
2. Minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in the mechanical sector.
3. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
4. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
5. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
6. Proven track record in successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to ensuring compliance.
Package:
A salary of 40 to 50k is on offer along with company pension.
