Job summary In this role, as a Healthcare Assistant, you will be working closely with multi-disciplinary team members to provide a high standard of care for patients throughout their visit or stay at one of our community hospitals. You will be responsible for implementing treatment and risk management plans and aiding patients through their recovery. Moreover, you will also be responsible for providing support and comfort to patient family members or carers. During your work as a Healthcare assistant, you will be expected to provide a high level of care to all patients in your ward or clinical area. This may include (and will not be limited to) moving and handling, cleaning and bathing patients, feeding patients and patient observations - this could be for a wide variety of patients. We will support successful candidates to complete the Care Certificate whilst working with us, to embed their practice and learning and support ongoing development. The teams on the wards include Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Health Care Assistants, Rehabilitation Support Workers, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Doctors. Main duties of the job To work within a multi-professional team in an Inpatient setting, providing, support, care, and treatment to individuals, within guidelines and protocols identified for the role. You will be expected to provide a high level of Essential Care to meet the needs of patients in the Ward. This will include helping to maintain personal hygiene, continence, mobility, nutrition and hydration. As well as supporting recovery you will promote rehabilitation, encouraging patients to regain and maintain as much independence as possible.
