Job Overview
Dilkes Academy is looking for a self-motivated and practical person to take on the role of Site Manager at our school. The Site Manager plays a vital part in ensuring that the building is safe and ready for teaching and learning. They will need to demonstrate a firm commitment to the school and its ethos.
Dilkes Academy is a two-form entry primary school with a newly refurbished building and a large site. This role will suit someone who is organised, practical, and friendly, with a flexible approach to work and the ability to work independently. The post holder will lead a small team of cleaners and liaise with contractors and tradesmen, as well as students and staff. Strong DIY and handyman skills (e.g., decorating, carpentry, plumbing) are essential, along with a willingness to learn how to use the systems in the building. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the site is safe, secure, well-maintained, and clean every day.
Ideally, candidates will possess an awareness of COSHH, safe manual handling practices, and health & safety, and have prior experience working in a similar setting (though this is not essential).
A full driving licence and use of your own car are essential, as attendance outside normal working hours may be required.
Visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcomed. Informal, confidential discussions about this vacancy can be arranged with Rhys Latham, our Headteacher. Please contact the school at 01708 852128 or email smb.da@catrust.org.uk.
All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
